Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Local.

Primary Habitat: Grassland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in June and July.

Localities: Salcey Forest, Brampton Wood, Wakerley Wood and Barnack Hills & Holes.

Observations: The largest Northamptonshire colony of the species that I have seen occurs on the limestone grassland of Collyweston Quarry. The moth was abundant on 17 June 1988 flying over the quarry at dusk.

L.O.N.: 1908. Ashton Wold, near Kettering, Wadenhoe. Not common.
