Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Rather local.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in July and August.

Localities: Brampton Golf Course, Barford Meadows, Geddington Chase and Spanhoe Wood.

Observations: Useful data on the flight period and abundance of the moth is provided by the Fineshade Rothamsted light trap running in damp woodland. Viz:-

14 July - 22 August  1996,  49
16 July - 13 August  1997,  17
16 July - 18 August  1998,  10
25 July -   4  August 1999,  15.
The number of moths seen at this site is generally rather above average for the species.
