Distribution
and Abundance: Local.
Localities: Yardley
Chase, Woodnewton, Easton Hornstocks and Werrington.
Observations: Always
an uncommon species in the county with few records the
moth has been seen more frequently in recent years. It
has been taken at light annually over the past three
years at Woodnewton with twelve examples being seen
between 29 June and 10 July in 2010. Also in 2010 a
single moth was taken at light in Easton Hornstocks. The
Yardley Chase moth was taken in 2006 and the Werrington
record dates from 1979. Historically two moths were taken
by Frank Adams, the last one being at Grafton Park Wood
in 1974 and an earlier one which flew into a lighted
window at Broughton in 1945 during a thunderstorm.
