Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Scarce.

Primary Habitat: Grassland.

Flight Period: Single brooded from June to August.

Records: 1990 Salcey Forest (P. Sharpe), 31 July 2003 Bradlaugh Fields (P. Sharpe), 1996 Cottesbrooke Park (P. Horsnail) and 25 June 1992 Castor Hanglands (D. Howton).

Observations: The species has always been uncommon in the county with Weekley Hall Wood and Wakerley Woods being known historical localities. Although also without modern records Bedford Purlieus was formerly regarded as a good site for the species. It was first seen there in 1921 with a last sighting in 1969. The Bradlaugh fields record was of a female moth ovipositing on lady’s bedstraw on 31 July 2003.
