B&F: 1742
ABH: 70.059
Status: Resident.
Distribution
and Abundance: Common.
Primary Habitat: General
occurrence.
Flight Period: Single
brooded from June to August.
Observations: Although
uncommon at light, I have often seen the moth feeding at
the flowers of buddleia near to my garden m.v. light
trap. The lack of attraction to light is evident from the
Fineshade Rothamsted light trap returns for seven years
in the 1990s with an annual average of three moths
recorded in an overall flight period from 29 June to 25
August. As the moth is easily disturbed by day the
remaining grid squares could easily be filled in this
way.
L.O.N.: 1907.
Everywhere. Abundant.
First Record: 1882,
Hull & Tomalin.
