Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Local.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded from June to August.

Localities: Cold Oak Copse, Weldon Park, Bedford Purlieus and Southey Wood.

Observations: Although the moth can occasionally be disturbed from bushes by day its sparing attendance at light is a material factor in its under recording in the county. The Fineshade Rothamsted light trap shows six moths recorded in the seven years between 1993 and 1999 with an overall flight period of 21 June to 21 July.

L.O.N. 1907. Many localities. Rather common.
