Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Fairly common.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in July and August.

Observations: In historical records there appears to have been some confusion between this species and its congener the Common Marbled Carpet (D. truncata). The Dark Marbled Carpet is rather less common and more of a woodland species in the county.
