Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in June and July.

Observations:  There was a very strong sunset flight of numerous males in search of females on 14 June 1991 at Hazelborough Wood. Returns from the woodland Fineshade Rothamsted insect trap for the eight years from 1993 to 2000 show an overall total of sixty moths recorded and an overall flight period from 13 June to 21 July. Twenty-two examples of the moth were taken at m.v. light at Ring Haw on 18 June 2009.
