  Blue-bordered Carpet Plemyria rubiginata

B&F: 1766

ABH: 70.084

Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Rather local.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period:  Single brooded from June to August.

Localities: Salcey Forest, Pitsford Water, Ring Haw and Collyweston Great Wood.

Observations: The moth is not strongly attracted to light and is certainly more widespread in the county than the mapping suggests. As it is easily netted when flying at dusk this may be the best way to increase its known distribution. A pair of moths were observed by day in cop on 15 July 1979 in Badsaddle Wood.

L.O.N.: 1907. Many localities. Common.

First Record:  1843, Whitewell.
