Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Rather local.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in July and August.

Localities: Salcey Forest, Ditchford Lake, Boughton Park and Wittering Copse.

Observations: The Fineshade Rothamsted light trap run nightly in the 1990’s in woodland shows the following catches:-

Several caterpillars were found in May 1991 feeding on buckthorn along the River Ise at Newton.
