B&F: 1811
ABH: 70.147
Status: Resident.
Distribution and Abundance: Local.
Primary Habitat: Wetland.
Flight Period: Single
brooded in July and August.
Localities: Salcey
Forest, Pitsford Water, Geddington Chase and Fineshade.
Observations: The species is
under recorded in the county and probably occurs wherever large sallows
are to be found. The moth is fairly easily seen by day sitting on
the sallow trunks and this may be a way to increase its known range.
On 12 July 1996 several fresh moths were found in this way on Deenethorpe
airfield whilst searching the sallows for another species. An example
of the melanic Ab. Johnsoni was taken at light in a Kettering
garden on 30 May 2010.
L.O.N.: 1900.
Geddington Chase. Not common.
First Record: 1900,
Wallis.
