Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Scarce.

Primary Habitat: Waste ground.

Flight Period: Single brooded in June and July.

Records: 10 June 1994 Wellingborough (D. Larkin), 6 June 1998 Ringstead (P. Wilkins), 14 June 1996 Brampton Wood (J. Ward) and 1 July 1988 Collyweston Quarry (D. Howton).

Observations: The records are almost always of single moths taken at light. The only recent exception to this is on 8 July 2003 when two moths were seen at a garden m.v. light trap in Chelveston. All of my attempts to find the caterpillar of this species in the seed capsules of bladder campion in the county have been unsuccessful.
