  Freyer's Pug Eupithecia intricata

B&F: 1827

ABH: 70.176

Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: Gardens.

Flight Period: Single brooded in May and June.

Observations: The spread of this species has followed the spread of cypresses in gardens and woodland. Over the years it appears to have become progressively more plentiful in my own garden in Kettering and is almost certainly under recorded in the county. In the indifferent season locally of 2009 my garden produced six moths between 24 May and 29 June. This figure is well below the usual numbers seen annually.

First Record: 1929, KDNHS
