Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: General occurrence.

Flight Period: Double brooded from April to July.

Observations: The Fineshade Rothamsted light trap running in woodland for eight years in the 1990’s captured 465 examples of this moth with two melanics. The overall flight period extended from 25 April to 28 July.

L.O.N.: 1907. Many localities. Common.
