Distribution and Abundance: Common.
Primary Habitat: Woodland.
Flight Period: Double
brooded from May to August.
Observations: The
Fineshade woodland Rothamsted light trap recorded
nineteen examples of this species from 1995 to 2000 none
of which were the melanic form angelicata. In my
experience this form is generally more frequently
encountered than this in Northamptonshire.
