B&F: 1839
ABH: 70.188
Status: Resident.
Distribution
and Abundance: Fairly common.
Primary Habitat: Waste
ground.
Flight Period: Single
brooded in July and August.
Observations: The
species was regarded as not common in a review of Castor
Hanglands for the years 1911 to 1960 and there are no pre
1940 records for this site. With the advent of m.v. light
trapping in the 1950s records for the moth
increased more accurately reflecting its true
distribution within the county. The caterpillar was
fairly common feeding on mugwort in the autumn of 2004 at
Barford Meadows.
First Record: 1936,
Cooper.
