Distribution
and Abundance: Fairly common.
Primary Habitat: Woodland.
Flight Period: Single
brooded from May to July.
Observations: The
moth can be very common in established larch plantations
as on 22 July 1995 at Irchester Country Park when some
thirty examples were seen at m.v. light. Results from the
Fineshade woodland Rothamsted insect trap for the
1990s show melanism occurring in some 20% of the
species.
