  Sloe Pug Pasiphila chloerata

B&F: 1859

ABH: 70.143

Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Local.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in May and June.

Localities: Hazelborough Forest, Brampton Wood, Geddington Chase and Harringworth Lake.

Observations: The moth is not greatly attracted to light and therefore is almost certainly under recorded in the county. The caterpillar, which is full-grown around the third week in April, is relatively easily found feeding on the flowers of blackthorn and larval searches would seem to be the best way of increasing records for the species.

First Record: 1986, Parsons.
