Observations: Returns
from the Fineshade Rothamsted light trap running in
woodland for seven years in the 1990s produced the
following information:-
Number of moths recorded 134.
Proportion of melanic moths 20%.
Overall flight period 8 June to 4 August.
A full range of melanic forms appear to occur
within the county.
