Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Local.

Primary Habitat: Wetland.

Flight Period: Single brooded from June to August.

Localities: Sulby Gardens, Barford Meadows, Blatherwycke Lake and Fineshade.

Observations: The moth was plentiful on 11 June 1994 amongst alders along the River Nene in Lilford Park and as it is not strongly attracted to light is almost certainly under recorded in similar alder carr and on riverside alders elsewhere in the county. It is easily disturbed from its’ food plant and when at rest on alder leaves is quite easily seen.
