B&F: 1875
ABH: 70.111
Status: Resident.
Distribution and Abundance: Local.
Primary Habitat: Woodland.
Flight Period: Single
brooded from May into July.
Localities: Hazelborough
Forest, Salcey Forest, Old Pastures and Geddington Chase.
Observations: The
moth is almost certainly under recorded in the county due
to its main flight time being almost over before darkness
falls and consequently its sparse attendance at light.
Records from the first part of the last century before
the advent of m.v. light trapping show the moth to have
been taken in all of the regularly visited woodlands,
presumably having been netted at dusk. All of the dated
records from these times show the species to be single
brooded in Northamptonshire.
L.O.N.: 1907.
Almost everywhere. Very common.
First Record: 1881,
Porritt.
