Distribution
and Abundance: Rather local.
Primary Habitat: Woodland.
Flight
Period: Single brooded in May and June.
Localities:
Badby Wood, Hazelborough Forest, Geddington Chase and
Easton Hornstocks.
Observations: The
species can be very common where its foodplant the
bracken is well established as on 31 May 1987 at Spanhoe
Wood when it swarmed over the bracken under the large old
oaks at dusk. The moth is sometimes taken in light traps
well away from its foodplant.
