Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in May and June.

Observations: Although primarily a woodland species it was remarkably uncommon from 1993 to 2000 at the Fineshade Rothamsted light trap, with only four moths taken over the period.

L.O.N.: 1907. Northampton, Kettering, Oundle. Not common.
