  Bordered Beauty Epione repandaria

B&F: 1907

ABH: 70.227

Status:  Resident.

Distribution and Abundance:  Fairly common.

Primary Habitat:  Woodland.

Flight Period:  Single brooded from July to September.

Observations:  That the species is normally sought at light, to which it is not strongly  attracted, tends to belie its true abundance; I have found it to be more easily netted at dusk. Only two moths were taken at the Fineshade Rothamsted light trap in the eight years to 2000.

L.O.N.:  1907. Castle Ashby, near Kettering, Wadenhoe, Brigstock. Not uncommon. Sometimes at treacle.

First Record:  1902, Victoria County History.
