Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Rahter local.

Primary Habitat: Parkland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in August and September.

Localities: Yardley Chase, Cottesbrooke Park, Hill Spinnies and Fineshade.

Observations: In my experience the species is usually encountered in small numbers at light in the county. The only site that I have found the moth more plentifully is at Boughton Park where it can be common amongst the large old parkland limes.

Confusion Species: September Thorn

L.O.N.: 1907. Rushden, Kettering. Rather common.

First Record: 1882, Hull & Tomalin.
