Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Local.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in July and August.

Localities: Salcey Forest, Kings Wood, Sulby Gardens and Werrington.

Observations: The dark form sericearia appears to be dominant in the Northamptonshire populations of the moth. The species is almost certainly under recorded in the county.
