Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Observations: Although present on the Victoria County History, along with other pine feeding species the distribution of this moth markedly widened following the increased planting of conifers in the county during the 1940’s. Male moths were plentiful flying around the firs in the sunshine on the outskirts of Weekley Hall Wood on 4 July 1997.
