brooded in June and July.
Observations:
Although present on the Victoria County
History, along with other pine feeding species the
distribution of this moth markedly widened following the
increased planting of conifers in the county during the
1940s. Currently the species is significantly
under-recorded and is probably present in all coniferous
woodland throughout the county. Male moths were plentiful
flying around the firs in the sunshine on the outskirts
of Weekley Hall Wood on 4 July 1997.
