Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in June and July.

Observations: The partial second brood seems to be infrequent and small in Northamptonshire. Catches at the Pitsford Water static light traps for the five years from 1999 to 2003 shows a considerable fluctuation in abundance with a low of twenty-five moths in 1999 to a high of ninety-seven moths in 2003.
