Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Fairly common.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in April and May.

Observations: The moth was plentiful at m.v. lights on 20 April 1987 on the edge of Ailsworth Heath with fifteen examples being recorded. I have seen no melanic forms in this county.
