  Oak Processionary Thaumetopoea processionea

B&F: 2022

ABH: 71.001

Status: Migrant.

Distribution and Abundance: Rare.

Observations:  The first VC32 record, which was a male specimen, was taken in a garden light trap on 10th August 1995. With twelve examples being recorded nationally, 1995 it was, at that time, a peak migration year for the species. Since that first record, the moth has been seen more or less annually since 2018 - all being males to light traps, and are assumed to be recorded during periods of dispersal activity. There have yet to be any larval records in the area. The moth remains a Notifiable Species, but sightings of males to light traps need not be reported further.

First Record: 1995, Hillier.
