Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in May and June.

Observations: Returns for the two Pitsford Water static m.v. light traps for the years 1999 to 2002 show an annual average of forty-four moths with one third taken in May and the remainder taken in June. Melanistic forms occur but are infrequent.

L.O.N.: 1907. Several localities. Not common.

First Record: 1882, Hull & Tomalin.
