  Buff Footman Eilema deplana

B&F: 2049

ABH: 72.043

Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Rather local.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in July and August.

Localities: Hazelborough Wood, Horn Wood, Fineshade and Sutton Wood.

Observations: In 1954 the first record of this moth in Northamptonshire was mentioned in the entomological publications of the day. Since then it has become a successful coloniser of much of the county’s woodland and although never numerous at light it is regular in attendance. My own field records show that over the past decade I have seen it in small numbers for nine of the years.

First Record: 1953, Gent.
