Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Very common.

Primary Habitat: General occurrence.

Flight Period: Single brooded in July and August.

Observations: The moth is taken in exceptionally large numbers annually in the two static light traps at Pitsford Water. Viz:- 2000 - 634, 2001 - 663, 2002 - 405, 2003 - 993, 2004 - 829, 2005 - 2416, 2006 - 2285, 2007 - 306, 2008 - 357 and 2009 - 460. In 2005 the species was the second most numerous moth recorded on the reserve.

Confusion Species: Scarce Footman
