Status: Migrant.

Distribution and Abundance: Irregular.

Primary Habitat: General occurrence.

Flight Period: Most records are in September and October, but also seen from May to August.

Observations: Writing in his paper on, “The Lepidoptera of Castor Hanglands and Ailsworth Heath. 1911 – 1960.” R. E. M. Pilcher says of this species, “Some years quite common; not seen other years.” Generally speaking this remains the case.

L.O.N.: 1906. Near Faxton, Ashton, Northampton, Castle Ashby. At sugar.
