Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: Wetland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in August.

Observations: Although the species occurs in other habitats, including gardens, it is much more frequent in damper areas as shown by the recent Pitsford Water light trap returns. Viz:- 1999-62, 2000-116, 2001-46, 2002-105 and 2003-66. In these years 98% of the moths were taken in August.

L.O.N.: 1906. Kettering, Weedon. Not uncommon at sugar.
