Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in March and April.

Observations: The Fineshade Rothamsted light trap provides useful data on abundance and flight period in woodland in the 1990’s. Viz:-

Generally my impression is that the moth has become less common in more recent years.  

L.O.N.: 1907. Several localities. Rather common at sallow blossom.
