Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Local.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in March and April.

Localities: Fermyn Wood, Weldon Park, Harringworth Wood and Castor Hanglands.

Observations: The moth can be common at sallow bloom as on
15 April 1986 when eleven examples were taken on a sheet placed under tall sallows at Geddington Chase. The moths were feeding high up and were secured by jarring the bloom with long poles. In 1996 whilst trying to obtain a female moth for egg laying, I took twenty-one males in succession at light in various localities around the county before taking a female moth on 20 April 1996 in Salcey Forest.
