  Grey Arches Polia nebulosa

B&F: 2150

ABH: 73.261

Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Rather local.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in June and July.

Localities: Hazelborough Forest, Salcey Forest, Geddington Chase and Castor Hanglands.

Observations: The moth is primarily a woodland species in the county. My own field records for the 1990’s show that I recorded the moth at m.v. light in six of the ten years in woodland and only once in my urban garden light trap. In the past I have found the caterpillar in Gradwell traps sited on oak and left over the winter months at Geddington Chase. The species was unrecorded in the Pitsford Water light traps in the decade to 2009.

L.O.N.: 1907. Several localities. Common in most woods.

First Record: 1842, Clark.
