  Broad-barred White Hecatera bicolorata

B&F: 2164

ABH: 73.279

Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Fairly common.

Primary Habitat: Waste ground.

Flight Period: Mainly single brooded in May and June.

Observations: The span of records extends from early May to late August, indicating a second brood in at least some years. Although usually found to be present in a locality it seldom seems to be numerous. In the past I have found Collyweston Quarry to be as good a site as any in the county for the species.

L.O.N.: 1906. Kettering, Northampton. At light.

First Record: 1882, Hull & Tomalin.
