Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Fairly common.

Primary Habitat: Gardens.

Flight Period: Single brooded in June and July.

Observations: Mainly a garden species but occasionally the moth is recorded at m.v. light in other habitats. The first example that was taken in the Pitsford Water static m.v. light traps was on 16 July 2001 after some nine years recording.  In the past I have found pupae of this species just beneath the soil under garden sweet williams.
