Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: General occurrence.

Flight Period: Single brooded in April and May.

Observations: The moth was unusually plentiful in 1951 at m..v. light in a Wellingborough garden where sixty-two examples were recorded from 18 April 1951 to 4 June 1951. The average annual catch for the species in this garden for eight years in the 1950’s was twenty-seven which is well above the figures achieved nowadays. In the years 1999 to 2003 the combined Pitsford Water light traps averaged twelve moths.

L.O.N.: 1907. Kettering, Brigstock, Barnwell etc. Not common.
