  Double Line Mythimna turca

B&F: 2191

ABH: 73.288

Status: Former resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Rare - no modern records

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Recorded in June and July.

Records: 2 July 1906 Geddington Chase (E. Wallis), 30 June 1946 Sywell Wood (F. Adams) and 17 June 1951 Weekley Hall Wood (F. Thompson).

Observations: Commenting on the records in turn. The 1906 record was of a singleton netted at dusk. Additional to the 1946 record, there is a further record of a moth being taken on 6 July 1945 without any locality or recorder being given. I believe this also to be from Sywell Wood by Frank Adams. The 1951 moth was found at rest expanding its wings on the woodland edge indicating beyond any doubt that the species was resident in the area at that time.

First Record: 1906, Wallis.
