Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: General occurrence.

Flight Period: Mainly single brooded from June to August with a partial second generation in September in some years.

Observations: The species can be very common as shown by the Pitsford Water light trap returns for the five years to 2003. Viz:-

This analysis, with September numbers quoted separately, demonstrates that the moth has produced a second generation in at least three of the five recent years, whereas earlier records indicate that the species was formerly more single brooded in the county.
