Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Rare.

Primary Habitat: Wetland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in June and July.

Record: 29/6/2015, Byfield Pools (C. Colles); 19/06/2015, Old Straford (A. Harding); 01/06/1987, Helpston (M. Hillier).

Observations: Earlier records are as follows:- 1882 Whittlebury Forest (W. Hull & H. Tomalin), 1955 Wellingborough (P. Gent), 10 June 1971 Corby (D. Howton) and 1969 Peterborough (S. Pooles). As all of the more recent records are of moths taken in garden light traps there are almost certainly colonies awaiting discovery in the county’s unworked wetland sites.
