Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: Wetland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in June and July.

Observations: This species is particularly common in the Pitsford Water static light traps as shown by the following annual captures:-
1999, June 17, July   4, total - 21
2000, June 42, July   4, total - 46
2001, June 39, July 16, total - 55
2002, June 32, July   9, total - 41
2003, June 27, July   3, total - 30.
These figures contrast sharply with the Fineshade Rothamsted light trap running in woodland where over eight years in the 1990’s the only moth that was seen was a singleton on 6 July 1996.
