  Beautiful Gothic Leucochlaena oditis

B&F: 2226

ABH: 73.178

Status: Unknown.

Records: 1882 Whittlebury Forest (W. Hull & H. Tomalin) and 22 September 1906 Faxton (E. Wallis).

Observations: The Faxton record by Wallis is endorsed “Old Poor’s Gorse” by Frank Adams in his copy of L.O.N. A puzzling moth to feature on a list for Northamptonshire, particularly having regard to Wallis’s recording expertise and that the county is mentioned, along with Warwickshire, as being a northern limit of the range of the species by Meyrick in his 1927 book, “A Revised Handbook of British Lepidoptera.”

L.O.N.: 1906. Faxton. Scarce.

First Record: 1882, Whittlebury Forest, Hull & Tomalin.
