Status: Resident. 

Distribution and Abundance: Local.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in July and August.

Localities: Yardley Chase, Lings Wood, Ring Haw and Easton Hornstocks.

Observations: The moth is usually seen in very small numbers at light. Currently the best Northamptonshire locality for the species appears to be Old Sulehay Forest where five were taken at m.v. light in 2002 - four on 9 July and one on 24 July. Writing in his unpublished paper on, “The Lepidoptera of Castor Hanglands and Ailsworth Heath 1911 – 1960,” R. E. M. Pilcher described this species as rare on the reserve.
