Status:  Resident.

Distribution and Abundance:  Common.

Primary Habitat:  Woodland.

Flight Period:  Single brooded in September and October.

Observations:  In 1995 this species was the most common moth amongst moths reared from fallen catkins collected from under poplars at Grafton Park Wood, Old Head Wood and near to Barford Meadows.

L.O.N.:  1907. Northampton, near Kettering. Not very common. 

First Record:  1882, Hull & Tomalin.
