Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: General occurrence.

Flight Period: Double brooded in June and August.

Observations: Although intermediates occur I have not seen the melanic ab. salicis in the county. In the past I have often found the colourful caterpillar feeding on dock and plantain.
