Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: Gardens.

Flight Period: Single brooded in July and August.

Observations: Much more plentiful in urban areas with dark and variable forms occurring. Small sized moths were noted in 1992 following the exceptionally dry spring locally. A comparison of m.v. light trap records from a Wellingborough garden in the 1950’s and current m.v. garden light trap records show numbers of moths recorded and flight periods to be fairly similar.

Confusion Species: Marbled Green
